Commissioned by the Jesuits at St Aloysius college in Glasgow to commemorate the opening of the new junior school in Garnethill. The young Ogilvie is depicted being watched over by his guardian angel. Clutching a Bible, he prepares to make the momentous decision to become a Jesuit which would shape the rest of his life, and lead him ultimately and tragically to his death on the gallows at Glasgow’s Trongate.
